Volunteer with LES

Please take a moment to let us know where you would be interested in helping out! Volunteer Opportunities Form for PTO

We have so many opportunities for volunteers! If you’re able to help for a couple hours you could assist with the set up of a Movie Night or if you’re looking to get more deeply involved and chair something like the Jog-A-Thon, we’ve got something for you. Please take a look at some of our existing positions below. We are so grateful for any and all family involvement, and it is such a necessary piece of our school community!  As well, if you have any new ideas for ways to volunteer or events for the school, please reach out via email, lesptopanthers@gmail.com.

Visit Help at School and make sure “Louisville Elementary School” is selected to view all the current volunteer opportunities in your child’s classroom and LES School Events. We also encourage you to look for opportunities in other grade levels and classes, if those are a better fit for your schedule or interests...any and all involvement is welcome and appreciated!! Complete your annual background screening, and you’re good to go for the year. If the cost of the background check is a barrier to volunteering, please contact us at lesptopanthers@gmail.com for confidential assistance.

Volunteer opportunities (and there are more!)

Please note, our volunteer needs can change year from year. This is a general list to give you an idea of what has been done in the past and the sorts of things we need help with.

Marquee Board  Help with publicizing the LES events on two marquee boards.  Updates to the board are done every few weeks and can be done anytime the school is open.

Workroom Teacher Preparation  A weekly commitment to help with various teaching preparation tasks such as cutting, copying, and laminating.

Library  Our Librarian needs your help during the school day with reshelving books, assisting with check-out, and occasionally assisting students with projects.

Jog-a-thon  An all-school community- building event that takes place in the fall and promotes physical activity and inclusion. Volunteers are needed the day of at water stations and marking lap cards.

Book Fair  This is an opportunity for families to purchase new books while helping the LES library earn more books.  Volunteers are needed to help with set-up/take-down of displays and assist with cashiering.

Spirit Night Fundraising Dinners  Join the LES community in eating out and raising money for the school.  Assist in the coordination of 1-2 “Spirit Night” dinners at local area restaurants.

Family Movie Night  Bring your sleeping bags and money for pizza and snacks in the gym or out on the soccer fields. Volunteers are needed to help with set up/clean up and selling concessions.

Spring Fling  Another fun all-school, family event which is held one evening in the spring.  Volunteers are needed to set-up/clean-up, greet families, and scoop ice cream.

Field Day  We love Field Day!  Mr. Dombek needs assistance before school on the day of the event to get all of the equipment ready for the students to use.

Running Club Running Club runs from April – May and meets two mornings a week before school.  Volunteers are always needed to serve as crossing guards while the kids run and facilitate breakfast.

Conference Dinners   During the week of conferences in October and February, volunteers provide the teachers and staff, who work all day and evening, with potluck dinners.  This is a gratifying way to demonstrate your appreciation!

Staff Appreciation Week  Participate in a series of heartwarming events to thank the amazing LES staff.

Garden to Table  The LES garden team works directly with teachers and students to implement fall and spring lessons for each classroom in our seasonal vegetable garden.  During lessons students plant, harvest, and sample a wide variety of fresh organic produce.  In addition, they help prepare the garden for upcoming seasons.  Volunteers are needed to join the LES Garden Leads in coordinating lessons with teachers, assist students as they tend the garden during school hours, or help care for the garden during summer break.  No garden experience necessary; the partner organization Garden to Table provides all supplies and weekly garden support.

New Family Ambassadors Connect with families who are new to LES by answering questions and/or sharing information to help them feel supported as they initially join our school community!

Thank you for volunteering!
